"I want to learn jazz but can't commute to Osaka... I'm worried about
heatstroke in the summer and infection during the flu season... I'm too
busy to make time for lessons... I only have free time late at night or
early in the morning..." At SPOONFUL MUSIC, we have been working on
online classes long before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic to address
these concerns of our students.
We have experimented with various apps, figuring out how to structure lessons
and how to bridge the gap between online and face-to-face classes. As long
as the classes are conducted in the same way as face-to-face classes, being
online becomes a handicap. In online lessons, we leverage the advantages
of online to reach the same goal as face-to-face classes. By setting this
as our goal, we have been able to achieve a quality of education on par
with commuting lessons.
For piano lessons, we use Skype or ZOOM, and for vocals, we use SYNCROOM.
It's fine to combine commuting and online lessons. As long as you have
internet access, you can take jazz lessons anywhere in the world.

1.The fees, including the membership fee, are the same as in-person classes,
with payment due after each lesson.
2.The courses are identical to in-person ones.

3.Reservations are made at your discretion.
There's no set pace for your lessons.
4.You can also use in-person lessons.
Normally, you can take Skype lessons and reserve an in-person lesson when
you have errands in Osaka!
5.Late-night lessons are also possible.
While lessons at the school are from 2:15 PM to 11:00 PM (last reservation
at 10:00 PM), online lessons via computer can be scheduled from 2:15 PM
to 2:00 AM (last reservation at 1:00 AM).
6.We use Skype for jazz piano and jazz theory lessons.
You can take the same jazz piano lessons as in the classroom from home.
As we also show the teacher's hand movements, you can effectively review
by recording the screen using Skype's recording feature.。
7.We use "SYNCROOM" (free) for vocal lessons.
SYNCROOM is an app created by YAMAHA for remote music sessions.
